Venue Supervisor

UNE Life is a wholly owned, not-for-profit entity of the University of New England independently governed by a Board of Directors and managed by a CEO. Venue Supervisor 

With a focus on service excellence, the Venue Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and professional running of UNE Life food & beverage outlets which contributes to the achievement of UNE Life strategic objectives.

The Venue Supervisor trains food and beverage staff, is responsible for all daily operations, assists with procedures for inventory control including buying and replenishment, presentation, product knowledge and service standards. The Venue Supervisor has a strong physical presence in the venues, participating as a member of the team to facilitate and improve daily workflow.

UNE Life Safety, Security & Information is a part of the UNE Life group, servicing the University of New Englan. Operating as a 24/7 Security service.

SECURITY OFFICERS

Multiple casual (with the possibility of conversion to permanent status) positions available – in Armidale, NSW, Australia.
Seeking motivated people for safety and security work who are proactive, with a strong sense of customer service.
Successful applicants will need high-level interpersonal, communication and consultative skills and enjoy working as part of a team. Must be willing and able to work to a flexible roster, over 24 hour period, 7 days a week

Must Have:

  • Security Licence – Class 1AC;
  • Current First Aid Certificate;
  • Availability to work shift work for a 24/7 operation

Group Fitness Instructor | SportUNE

SportUNE provides a comprehensive range of services to the University, students and local community in the areas of an Indoor Recreation Centre, which caters for a wide range of sports and activities; 15 hectares of designated playing fields; an indoor swimming pool and a well-equipped gymnasium, outdoor facilities, an on-site café and sporting events. SportUNE is considered one of the best university sporting precincts in Australia, offering variety, flexibility and a range of new facilities and services.

GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

With a focus on service excellence, the Fitness Instructor assists in the efficient and professional running of SportUNE which contributes to the achievement of UNE Life strategic objectives.

The Fitness Instructor will be required to conduct safe, appropriate and stimulating group fitness classes within format guidelines. The Instructor is relied upon to motivate, educate and enhance each participant’s experience. Through developing a rapport with participants, the Group Fitness Instructor fosters a commitment to their improved health and wellbeing.

Benefits include: $50 per class plus super, SportUNE membership to all facilities, access to UNE Life staff benefit scheme.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through the timely set up, delivery, and pack down of high-quality fitness classes, and facilitate discussion and evaluation opportunities for class participants,
  2. Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to foster a sense of belonging at SportUNE,
  3. Communicate positively and effectively with all SportUNE stakeholders,
  4. Pursue self-development through industry training and development courses, maintain up to date fitness industry knowledge, and maintain required qualifications for the position
  5. Participate in special events e.g. master classes, workshops, open days,
  6. Comply with all UNE Life’s policies and procedures, specifically SportUNE Group Fitness Policy guidelines, and those relating to equal opportunity, risk management, workplace health and safety, and quality assurance,
  7. Undertake reasonable directives of the employer and any other duties required as directed by SportUNE Management.

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated relevant experience and passion for the fitness industry,
  2. Demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients through excellent communication skills, maintaining confidentiality as required,
  3. Effective time management skills – able to work within time constraints and prioritise tasks according to SportUNE needs,
  4. Demonstrated awareness of WHS, Safe work procedures,
  5. Demonstrated awareness and ability to work well within a diverse workforce, either as part of a team, or individually.

Special Requirements

  1. Willingness to work weekends and nights, if required,
  2. Certificate III Health and Fitness
  3. Certificate IV Personal Training (preferred),
  4. Current First aid certificate,
  5. Current Working with Children Check.
