Student Emergency Assistance Funds
Funding has been made available from the University to support quick response grants for UNE students experiencing financial hardship impacting their ability to continue their academic studies (course program or research) at the University.
Please note, these funds are administered by the UNE Scholarships office. At Advocacy & Welfare, we provide you with independent and confidential advice to assist with your application. We do not determine the results of applications or allocate funding.
To receive this fund you will need to provide:
- Proof of your situation
- Proof of your income
- Proof of how you would use any received funds to help your successful continuation of study at UNE
UNE Scholarships
Scholarships can make a huge difference in covering the costs of study, from textbooks and accommodation to general living expenses.
There are two scholarships that are especially helpful for students struggling financially.
UNE Online student Textbook Bursary
This scholarship offers students up to $1000 credit with the UNE Life bookshop – to support students in affording textbooks.
To be eligible, students must:
- be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident
- be a continuing student who has completed a minimum of 48 credit points of an undergraduate/postgraduate degree
- be studying online
- be studying full time or part time (minimum 24 credit points per year)
- be able to demonstrate financial need
- have a minimum GPA of 4.0
UNE Technology Bursary
This scholarship offers a one-off payment of up to $1,500 to support students in maintaining or replacing a computer.
To be eligible, students must be:
- an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident
- a continuing student who has completed a minimum of 48 credit points of an undergraduate degree
- studying on campus or online
- studying full time or part time (minimum 24 credit points per year)
- able to demonstrate financial need
